Privacy Policy

Last updated April 2026

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes the information practices of CallyList ("we," "us," or "our") with respect to the CallyList mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy explains what personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights available to you regarding your personal information. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information
When you register or authenticate through Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive and store your name, email address, and a stable account identifier issued by the respective identity provider. This information is used solely to establish and maintain your account and to synchronize your subscription status across your devices.

1.2 Calendar and Event Data
To provide the core functionality of the Service, we store the events, tasks, reminders, titles, descriptions, dates, times, locations, and related preferences that you create or manage within the app. This content is stored locally on your device and synchronized to your private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. We do not store or access your calendar content on our own servers in the ordinary course of providing the Service.

1.3 Purchase and Subscription Data
If you purchase a Pro subscription, the transaction is processed through Apple's App Store using Apple's StoreKit framework and RevenueCat's subscription management platform. We receive and retain subscription status, entitlement identifiers, and transaction-related metadata sufficient to verify your subscription and facilitate purchase restoration. Payment card details are processed exclusively by Apple and are not accessible to us.

1.4 Translation Content
When you enable Smart translation mode, the titles, notes, and locations of individual calendar events are transmitted through our proxy infrastructure to Google's Gemini AI model for the purpose of language translation. On macOS (via Mac Catalyst), Smart mode is applied by default because Apple's on-device translation framework is unavailable on that platform. You may select Apple Translate mode on iOS at any time to perform all translation entirely on-device without transmitting event content to external services.

1.5 Calendar Search Queries
If you use the public calendar search feature, the search terms you enter are transmitted through our proxy infrastructure to Perplexity's API to identify matching publicly available calendar feeds. Search queries do not include calendar event content.

1.6 Image Data
You may choose to attach an image to a calendar event by selecting a photo from your device's photo library. Image selection is performed locally on your device. Selected image data is stored as part of the event record and synchronized to your private iCloud account via CloudKit. Image data is not transmitted to our servers.

1.7 Diagnostic and Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage analytics through PostHog to understand feature adoption and improve the Service. Analytics events are associated with a randomly generated device-level identifier and do not include your name, email address, account credentials, or calendar content. We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties for advertising purposes. Crash reports and diagnostic data may also be made available to us through Apple's platform services to support stability and performance improvements.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to: provide, operate, and maintain the Service; synchronize your data across your devices via iCloud and CloudKit; authenticate your identity and manage your account; process and restore subscription purchases; transmit event content to Google's Gemini AI model when Smart translation mode is active; return matching public calendar feeds in response to your search queries; analyze usage patterns to improve app performance and develop new features; and communicate material service or policy updates when necessary.

3. Data Storage, Security, and International Transfers

Your calendar content is stored on your device and in your private iCloud database via Apple's CloudKit service, subject to Apple's privacy and security practices. Data processed through our proxy infrastructure and third-party service providers may be stored and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence. We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the personal information we handle. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We engage the following third-party service providers, each of which may process personal information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies.

When Smart translation mode is active, event titles, notes, and locations are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI model via our proxy service. Requests are authenticated with a session token to verify your subscription tier; no additional account information is forwarded to Google's model.

4.3 RevenueCat
(subscription management and purchase restoration) RevenueCat processes subscription status and purchase history on our behalf for App Store transactions.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.

5. Data Retention

We retain account-related and subscription-related information for the duration of your account relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter as necessary to satisfy applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Calendar content stored in your iCloud account is retained in accordance with your own preferences and Apple's practices and remains under your control. Anonymized analytics data may be retained in aggregated form for an indefinite period. If you delete your account from within CallyList, the Service will remove CallyList-managed local data and will attempt to remove associated data stored in your private CloudKit database. Certain information held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat may remain subject to those providers' own independent retention practices.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to receive a portable copy of that information. Where we rely on your consent as a legal basis for processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred prior to withdrawal. To exercise any of these rights, or to submit a verifiable request for deletion of your account and associated data, please contact us at support@callylist.com. We will respond within the time period required by applicable law. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take prompt steps to delete it. If you have reason to believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@callylist.com and we will investigate and address the matter promptly.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, or the features of the Service. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of an updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
